Yosef started this company in 2014 after years of working as a service technician. The way we run it comes straight out of that: fix what is broken, explain what you found, and do not sell anybody a system they do not need.

Integrity and honesty. Everything else in this business follows from those two.
Repair first, replace when it is time.
Plenty of systems get condemned years early because a replacement is a bigger ticket than a capacitor. If your equipment has life left in it, we will tell you so and fix it.
The price before the work.
You hear what is wrong, what it takes to fix, and what it costs, before anybody picks up a tool. No line items that appear later on the invoice.
Sized for your actual house.
A new system gets sized off a real load calculation, not a rule of thumb about square footage. An oversized unit short cycles, never pulls the humidity down, and wears out early.
We are local, and we are small.
Family owned, working out of Silver Spring. You are not calling a national franchise, and the person you talk to knows the job you are talking about.
The rebate paperwork is our job.
Pepco and BGE run residential rebate programs on qualifying equipment under EmPOWER Maryland. We tell you what your install is eligible for and handle the paperwork.
Licensed, certified, accountable.
The credentials that actually matter when you are letting somebody work on a gas appliance in your basement.
Where we work.
Fifteen communities across Montgomery and Prince George's County. Each one has its own page, because a 1937 Greenbelt co-op home and a Bethesda new build do not have the same problems.
No heat in January. No cooling in July.
Emergency service runs 24 hours. If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, leave the house first and call 911 from outside. For everything else mechanical, call us.
Understand what you are buying.
We wrote these so they are useful whether or not you ever call us. No jargon without a definition, and no sales pitch dressed up as an article.

Love Yosef!! Highly recommend!!
I had one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had with a service repair. Our heater stopped working. Yosef came out yesterday. In his process of diagnosing the issue, he made a point to explain to me every step he was doing and pointing out different things. In most of the service repairs...
I called for an appointment because I was without heat. Yosef returned my call and the appointment was set. Not only was this technician thorough and double checked everything, he was cognizant of my time and advised me if he was running a few minutes late. I want to make this clear, Home Comfort was...
Had a good conversation. Made appointment. Never heard from him again. No call, no show. Update: After not making it to my home on Day 1, Yosef did come by the next day. Was very professional, knowledgeable and apologized for the day before. Took time to find the outdated part for my a/c unit. Followed...
Yosef is THE MAN!!! I called to get a quote for because I believed another company was overcharging me. Yosef got me a much lower quote for the new compressor in 30 min. He was very responsive. He came to inspect my unit before replacing the compressor and was able to get it running with...
When our furnace failed, Yosef came out the same day to diagnose the problem and gave an honest and competitive set of proposals for replacements. Despite an issue with the installation of the previous furnace delaying the process, Yosef stayed until 7PM on a Friday to get it all sorted out ahead of the big...
The questions we get most.
Do you service my town in Montgomery or Prince George's County?
We work across fifteen Maryland cities from our base in Silver Spring. In Montgomery County that is Silver Spring, White Oak, Takoma Park, Wheaton, Potomac and Bethesda. In Prince George's County it is Adelphi, College Park, Hyattsville, Beltsville, Bladensburg, Brentwood, Cheverly, New Carrollton and Greenbelt. If your address sits just outside one of those, ask anyway. Municipal borders on a map rarely match how a neighborhood actually works, and plenty of houses sit on the line.
What are your hours, and do you answer calls at night?
Our regular hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM. We also run 24-hour emergency service, so a heating or cooling failure in the middle of a January cold snap or an August heat wave does not have to wait for the next business day. Emergency work is dispatched by urgency, and we will tell you honestly where your call sits rather than guessing at a time.
What actually happens during a diagnostic service visit?
A technician confirms the symptom, then tests rather than guesses. On cooling that usually means static pressure, the temperature split across the coil, and superheat and subcool readings before anyone reaches a conclusion. On heating it means combustion testing, flame sensing and running the safety circuit. You get told what failed, what caused it, and what happens if it is left alone. The findings go in writing, not delivered verbally at the door and forgotten.
Are your estimates free, and what does an estimate include?
Replacement and installation estimates are free. Someone comes to the house, measures, looks at the ductwork and the electrical service, and puts the options in writing with the equipment model numbers on the page. Diagnostic visits on a system that has already broken are different, because that is skilled labor and test equipment rather than a sales call. We tell you any diagnostic fee before we schedule, so nothing on the invoice is a surprise.
Do you offer a military or senior citizen discount?
Yes. Active duty military, veterans and senior citizens get 10% off any HVAC repair. Mention it when you book rather than after the invoice is written, since it is much easier to apply up front. That discount applies to repair work. The separate $150 offer on a complete heating and cooling system replacement is its own promotion with its own terms. Ask which one fits your situation and we will point you at the better of the two.
How does the $150 off new system installation offer work?
It applies to a complete heating and cooling system, meaning a matched pair such as a furnace and air conditioner or a full heat pump system, rather than a single component swap. The $150 comes off the installed price. It sits alongside manufacturer promotions and any utility rebate you qualify for separately, because those come from different places entirely. Mention the offer when you request the estimate so it is written in from the start.
Do you offer financing on a new system?
Yes, financing is available on replacement systems. A furnace that fails in February is rarely a planned expense, and spreading it across monthly payments is often the difference between a properly sized system and whatever happens to be cheapest. Terms depend on the lender and on your credit, so nobody should quote you a rate on a web page. Ask during the estimate and compare the financed option against paying outright before you decide.
Are there rebates or tax credits on new HVAC equipment?
Often, yes. We participate in the Pepco and BGE residential rebate programs, and Washington Gas runs rebates on the gas side. Maryland EmPOWER programs can apply to qualifying high efficiency equipment. Amounts and eligibility change, and they turn on the exact model and its efficiency rating, so nobody should promise you a figure in advance. We will tell you which programs your equipment genuinely qualifies for.
Why do maintenance records matter for my equipment warranty?
Nearly every manufacturer parts warranty requires the equipment to be registered and maintained, and a denied claim usually comes down to missing documentation rather than a real dispute about the failure. Annual service creates that paper trail. Register the system when it goes in and keep the invoice from every visit with it, so if a compressor or a heat exchanger fails inside the warranty period you have proof the system was actually cared for.
How do I know whether to repair or replace my system?
Age, refrigerant type, and the cost of the repair measured against the value of the life left in the equipment. A ten year old system with a failed capacitor is worth fixing. A twenty year old R-22 air conditioner with a leaking evaporator coil usually is not, because the refrigerant alone has become the expensive part. A cracked heat exchanger is a safety replacement rather than a judgment call. We will show you the reasoning, not just the recommendation.
How long does a system replacement usually take?
A straightforward changeout, new equipment onto existing ductwork and an existing line set, is normally a one day job and the house has heat or cooling again that evening. Additional work adds time: new ductwork, a line set replacement through finished walls, an electrical service change, or moving equipment from an attic to a basement can push it into a second day. We tell you which one your house is before we start.
What equipment brands do you install and repair?
We are a Carrier authorized dealer, so that is what we install most often. Repair is a different question: our technicians service the major residential brands, because a Maryland house does not come with a matched set and most have been through several owners. What matters more than the badge on the cabinet is whether the system was sized with a load calculation and installed correctly. A well installed mid tier system outperforms an oversized premium one.
Are you licensed and insured to work in Maryland?
Yes. We hold Maryland HVACR license MD70918, our technicians are NATE certified, and we carry insurance for the work we do. We are an ACCA member and BBB accredited with an A+ rating. Ask any contractor for a license number and a current insurance certificate before work starts, and expect a real answer rather than a brush off. We will send ours on request, and so should anyone else bidding your job.
Do you handle light commercial work or only houses?
Both. Residential is most of what we do, but we also handle light commercial: small offices, storefronts, places of worship, and the mixed use buildings along corridors like Route 1 and Georgia Avenue. Rooftop units, split systems and the packaged equipment common on small commercial buildings are all within what we service. What we do not take on is large industrial plant work, and we will say so plainly rather than learn on your building.
What should I do if my heat or AC fails at night?
First make it safe. If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas company from outside. If you smell something burning, shut the system off at the breaker. Then check the ordinary causes: thermostat batteries, a tripped breaker, the furnace door safety switch, and a filter clogged badly enough to freeze the coil. If none of that explains it, our emergency line runs around the clock. In a hard freeze, keep faucets dripping while you wait.
